And I wouldn't miss this for the world...
So GLORIOUS, GLORIOUS SUN! At least you decided to show up at an appropriate time. Just in time for a picture perfect beautiful 4th of July.

I woke up early on Saturday, went out running and though I had a terrible run (I apparently just did not have the energy and was hurting BAD a mile in) it was still wonderful. Went out on a shopping trip, and stopped by the grocery store to pick up the last of what I would need to make dessert.

Last second plans had me heading to Hannah, Andy (and for the moment Brooke's) house for a barbecue/cookout, etc thing before we planned to head back down to the river for the traditional fireworks. I hadn't really planned very well since I made brownies, and then biscuits, with fresh fruit and whipped cream. Plus hauling alcohol I had to pack a backpack and another bag, then haul it across the city to Cambridge on public transport and walk 20 minutes to their house.

Ahh well...it was sunny not pouring so YAY! We played Wii, ate tasty food, caught a couple episodes of the Twilight Zone marathon on sci-fi. It was laid back but wonderfully relaxing.

Poor Andy was working all day down on the Esplanade, turning nice and tomato red. We fed him with the massive leftovers once he got home around 8 or so. He even rejoined us back out on the banks of the Charles for fireworks. We joined the steady stream of locals heading for the Mass Ave bridge (the best bridge in my opinion to see the show from...the barge is less than 100 yards from the bridge). For the first time since I've been going we were actually not allowed to get on the bridge...state police blocking the way and explaining they were at capacity. Weird. But we were still able to see the show, and enjoy it immensely. It was a bunch of people's first time actually attending the fireworks.

Sunday was a quiet day, did some yoga and read some before heading off to see transformers 2 with movie buddy David. I'll get into that in a separate entry I think...there were some truly beautiful things...and a whole lot of 'MICHAEL BAY! KNOCK IT OFF...OH I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU JUST DID THAT!!!' I just overall think he needed to slow it down, cut a bunch of characters that were new and spend some time with the ones we as an audience already were invested in.

It was a great weekend...and it would be nice if the weekends were always like this.
